Sector Focused Career Fairs, or better known as SFCFs, are industry-specific career fairs offering work and internship opportunities in Malaysia’s key economic sectors. A collaborative effort between TalentCorp and local universities since 2012, these career fairs are a highly anticipated event amongst both graduates and employers.

Like every other career fair, TalentCorp’s SFCF provides graduates with the opportunity to have a face-to-face meeting with recruiting representatives from top Malaysian employers. Graduates get to explore possibilities of an internship or employment at every SFCF. However, SFCFs are unlike your typical career fair. It is specialised to a certain economic sector such as SFCF’s 2014 fair at UNITEN brought more focus on job opportunities in the Engineering, Business and IT sectors.

At each booth, CEOs and top recruiters from participating companies are on hand to provide visitors with information about the company and what it does. Visitors have the opportunity to get up close and personal with CEOs and top management people, allow you a unique and personal insight to the company’s culture and its workplace environment. Most companies will be happy to receive a copy of your latest résumé so do go prepared! Otherwise, just attend an SFCF to gain more insight into the industry and the working world! 

Even in this Internet age of hyper connectivity, career fairs continue to be a highly effective way for recruiters to engage with potential hires. As such, SFCFs attract a good number of graduates and even, students in their final year, who turn up to explore their career options.
